In an effort to get some cuddly cats home for the holidays, Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) will cover $100 of the adoption fee for all adult cats adopted through the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center during the “Home for the Holidays” event that kicks off Friday, Dec. 10.
DAWG is the center’s non-profit fundraising group, and through Dec. 17, adult cats (6 months or older) will be available for a reduced fee of $35 (normally $135). The reduced adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and vaccination.
Pikachu and Clair Delune are just two of several charming cats waiting for loving, permanent homes.

We would love to adopt 2 cats so they can be friends together but the only reservation that I have is that they would probably need to be indoor cats because we live near Christopher park and there are coyotes there. We also have 2 golden retrievers who go in and out as they please to the back yard through their doggie door. I am not sure how to get them to stay inside. i have never had a problem introducing cats to dogs. They usually get the idea who is in charge pretty quick.
We have been in the same house since 1971 and have had many cats over the years. Our kids are grown and gone so there are no small children around. We have a great vet at El Toro Animal hospital who can vouch for us. If you have 2 cats that fit the bill let us know.
There are electronic devices that attach to the dog collars that only allow the doggy door to open for the dogs. The cats would not be able to use the door unless it went out between the dogs legs.
@Keith, I reckon something like that would certainly increase the value of a home.
Hope everyone had a great holiday season this past year.
