If you want to venture into the world of stand-up comedy, Tom Riehl, Orange County’s own comedian, will teach Stand-up Comedy 101 for beginners from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. from Jan. 12 through Feb. 16. The class is open to people 16 and older and focuses on basic joke-writing skills and more. Cost is $80 and registration is available online at eConnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #2139.

Those who’ve mastered Stand-up Comedy 101 should sign up for the “Taking Your Stand-up Comedy Seriously” class that takes place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Jan. 13 through Feb. 17. This class takes comedy to the next level and is open to people 16 and older. Cost is $80. Registration is available at eConnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #2140.

Residents with a passion for cupcake decorating are invited to sign up for the Cupcake Fondant class that takes place on Saturday, Jan. 15.

The class, which is from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., will focus on decorating cupcakes using fondant – an icing-like substance used to decorate or sculpt pastries. It is open to all ages with parent participation required for kids ages 3 to 6. Cost is $29 per person plus a $10 lab fee payable to the instructor.

If you want to move your body in a new program that caters to all ages and abilities, then register for the Zumba Gold class that kicks off on Jan. 10.

Zumba Gold’s moves are easy to follow and designed for participants with little exercise experience, physical limitations or inactive adults. The class, which runs through Feb. 14, is open to people 18 and over. Cost is $80 per session. Registration is available at eConnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #2174.

Registration for any of the community classes is also available by calling 949-470-3062.
