Groups of different faiths will showcase their holiday and seasonal displays – such as a lighted manger scene and traditional dreidel – beginning November 21 at the southwest and northwest corners of the intersection at La Paz Road and Chrisanta Drive.
The displays, which must celebrate an important achievement, event or time of year, are part of the City’s 4 Corners Holiday Display Opportunity – a program that has been a longtime beloved ritual in Mission Viejo that captures the essence of the holidays and spirit of community. In order to participate in the program, the City’s design criteria states that the displays must “celebrate a season or commemorate an event.”
This year, the organizations that have qualified for the program include the South Coast Christian Assembly, which will sponsor a lighted nativity scene. The Spiritual Assembly Bahá’ís of Mission Viejo will boast children in a celebration of the birth of Bahá’u'lláh. The Chabad Jewish Center of Mission Viejo will sponsor a large lighted dreidel. Motorists will also view a 10 foot lighted display by the Orange County Islamic Foundation and the Indian Cultural Club of Trabuco Hills High School will present an om symbol representing the festival of Diwali.
The exhibits will remain on display until January 7.
