Don’t forget to drop by the City’s Point-Of-Dispensing (POD) exercise on Friday at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center to get a free flu shot in an exercise designed to test mass dispensing and vaccination capabilities of a community during a disaster.
The POD event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Oct. 29 at 24932 Veterans Way.
Mission Viejo will receive 1,500 seasonal flu/H1N1 vaccines to distribute to residents ages 2 and older through a drive-thru line in the Village Green parking lot. People can also opt for a walk-in clinic at the community center. Mission Viejo was one of three cities selected to host this event, which also provides a great opportunity to help the community prepare for health emergencies.
If you cannot make it on Friday, don’t fret. The City, through the Orange County Health Care Agency, will host a free seasonal flu/H1N1 shot clinic on Thursday, November 4 at the community center.
The clinic will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (as the vaccine is available). The vaccine will be available for people over the age of 18.
People who are allergic to eggs or who are sick should refrain from getting the flu shot.
