Make plans for Saturday, October 30 when “Lord of the Strings” returns to Mission Viejo with a special performance by guitarists Doug Smith and Mark Hanson.

This talented and popular duo will play a selection of folk, classical, rock, jazz, and contemporary tunes in their unique and flowing finger-picking style.

The program is at 7:00 p.m. in the Mission Viejo Civic Center Council Chambers, 200 Civic Center.  Tickets are $25 and are available by calling 949-842-2227 or visiting www.lordofthestringsconcerts.com.

Then on November 13, internationally acclaimed performers Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire of Acoustic Eidolon will dazzle and delight the masses in the Lord of the Strings program, which kicks off at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Acoustic Eidolon’s signature sound includes a custom designed double-neck guitjo, a banjo/guitar combination.  Tickets are $25.  For more information, call 949-842-2227 or visit www.lordofthestringsconcerts.com.

Before heading to the Lord of the Strings concert on November 13, take part in a special watercolor workshop earlier that day featuring acclaimed artist Tom Fong.

The workshop is from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Friends Community Room at the Mission Viejo Library, 100 Civic Center.  Fong is known for his bold, spontaneous and direct watercolors. He has been a featured artist in “American Artist” magazine.

This workshop is sponsored by the Saddleback Art League. Cost is $40.  For more information, call 714-321-7662.

In other City cultural arts news, the 15th Annual Village Art Auction has been rescheduled from November 6 to the spring. Stay tuned to the City’s Mission Viejo Life Blog, www.missionviejolife.org and eNewsletter for information about the new spring date.
