Community members can learn how to prepare for a major disaster by attending the 3rd Annual South County Disaster Preparedness Expo on Saturday, October 23 at Oso Viejo Community Park on the Village Green.
The free Expo – with a theme of “Promise to Prepare” - is hosted by Supervisor Pat Bates and will be held in conjunction with the City’s 22nd Annual Walk Against Drugs, which kicks off at Mission High School stadium at 8 a.m. (Details about the Walk are available by clicking here.)
The Expo is from 9:00 a.m. to noon at 24932 Veterans Way and will feature an earthquake simulator; disaster preparedness kits; human and pet CPR demonstrations; emergency response vehicles; a Sheriff’s helicopter; interactive booths; and much more.
A host of agencies will take part in this essential event that will also boast fun activities for all ages, food and free giveaways.
