Some 300 people on Tuesday flocked to The Shops at Mission Viejo for the unveiling of Disney’s new concept store, the fifth in the country designed as a one-of-a-kind interactive destination for Disney fans of all ages.
Mayor Trish Kelley, who was there for the festivities, took advantage of the opportunity to shop for her grandchild.
“Disney unveiled magic and wonder in opening their new store at The Shops at Mission Viejo on Tuesday,” she said “I am excited that Disney chose Mission Viejo as their home, and I know that this store will be a very popular place for our residents, since our community is so focused on kids and family!”
The morning grand opening certainly was a hit with the many kids who attended and were delighted by the magic and wonder of Disney. The store boasts a sparkling “Pixie Path” that takes visitors on a tour of interactive elements including a Disney Princess Castle with Magic Mirror, Ridemakerz custom-car building experience, and the Disney Store Theatre where guests can select their favorite Disney film clips, music videos, sneak peek previews, and more.
Claire Hamman, 4, daughter of City Clerk Karen Hamman, had the honor of being the “princess” who opened the store’s door with a giant key shortly after 10 a.m.
The Disney Store is located on the second floor near the mall’s Dining Veranda.
