Night work on a busy stretch of Marguerite Parkway is expected to start Aug. 31. The work is part of the City’s ongoing effort to extend and improve the life of Mission Viejo streets.
The work, which will take place from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Marguerite between La Paz Road and Via Angelina, calls for replacing old asphalt with new asphalt overlay. It’s being done at night to minimize delays for motorists accessing businesses along that section of Marguerite Parkway.
The City has been doing prep work during the day in anticipation of the pavement rehabilitation project. That work, which has required some lane closures, includes removing and replacing severely worn and cracked concrete areas, curb, gutter and sidewalks and performing some asphalt and median work.
The City will advise motorists of the work with changeable message boards, which will be updated as necessary.
In an effort to keep the public apprised of this and other ongoing road construction designed to benefit the community as a whole, the City last month also created a special link on its website. The “Project Alert” link, which is available at www.cityofmissionviejo.org, features updated information and schedules about ongoing projects to help motorists avoid temporary traffic delays and better plan their routes.
