Old paperwork piling up? Documents to be destroyed? Then make a note to attend the free drive-thru paper shredding event on Saturday, September 11 in the Civic Center parking lot.
Mission Viejo Police Services and the City of Mission Viejo are providing an opportunity to have your sensitive records securely destroyed from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the nation, and shredding documents with personal or financial information can be an effective measure of prevention.
Mission Viejo residents and businesses may bring up to 10 legal-size boxes of paper records – cancelled checks, pay stubs, credit card statements and more – which will be shredded on-site by Orange County Shredding, who will then transport the small paper particles for recycling.
The boxes of pages may contain staples and paper clips, but must be free of notebooks or other bindings.
