Chris Maring, a member of Boy Scout Troop #615, completed a community landscape project at the Florence Joyner Olympiad Park Saturday, putting him in line to obtain his Eagle Scout ranking. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America.
With the help of about 35 to 40 volunteers, Chris planted about 1,100 plants to beautify the park and benefit the environment.
“Chris is a great leader and true inspiration,” said Public Services Operations Manager Jerry Hill. “His hard work on this wonderful project will benefit the park and environment for years to come.”
The Florence Joyner Olympiad Park is at 22760 Olympiad Road.
