The Mission Viejo Library is now offering job seekers free access to an online career guidance center that could help them land a job.
By visiting the library’s Web site at www.cmvl.org, the public can access Career Transitions, a self-paced program that walks job hunters through the entire process and features job listings available throughout the county.
The library received the program through an 18-month grant provided by the United States Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provision of the Library Services and Technology Act. The program does everything from helping people to assess their strengths and interests and explore new opportunities to ultimately improving their chances of finding a job. The program is a “win-win” for the community and library, as career research is the number one use of public libraries today, including the Mission Viejo Library.
Access Career Transitions from the library’s web site at www.cmvl.org. Select “Research It” on the home page; click on “Electronic Resources” and “Career and Job.” For more information, call the library’s Reference Desk at 830-7100, extension 5105.
