Scott Gordon, a member of Boy Scout troop #1602, completed a community landscape project at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center Saturday, putting him in line to obtain his Eagle Scout ranking. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America.
Scott, armed with 40-plus volunteers, landscaped a portion of the slopes at the Animal Services Center located off Hillcrest Drive. Like a master conductor, he orchestrated the group of volunteers in marking and spacing the locations for the plant material according to the plan. The group planted roughly 600 plants and trees.
“Scott demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in managing the day-long project,” said Public Services Operations Manager Jerry Hill. “Congratulations to Scott for a job well done.”
