The City Council is seeking applications from residents interested in filling one vacancy on the Investment Advisory Commission.
The commission, which consists of five members, acts as an advisory panel to the City Council, which appoints members to the post.
Residents interested in applying for the commission are encouraged to file a brief application form with the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. Friday, May 7. Applicants must be registered voters and reside in Mission Viejo.
Applicants should have the following qualifications: (1) banker, vice-president level or above; (2) investment banker, vice-president level or above; (3) financial planner; (4) corporate chief financial officer or treasurer; (5) registered investment adviser; or other associated qualifications.
The commission meets quarterly with the remaining meetings this year set for May 18, Aug. 17, and Nov. 16. The appointed commissioner will serve through the end of the year and can reapply for another term beginning in January 2011. Commissioners receive a $50 stipend per meeting.
