The City will host a Green Expo on Saturday, April 24 as part of its two-day Arts Alive Festival.

Arts Alive takes place April 24-25 along the Village Green at Oso Viejo Park, 24932 Veterans Way. The festival celebrates the City’s rich investment in the arts, environment, education and a healthy civic life.

The environment will take center stage during the Green Expo, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. The Green Expo will feature 25-30 exhibitors and vendors offering up information and earth-friendly tips on water conservation, pollution prevention and recycling. Visitors will embrace the spectacular Wyland Foundation Mobile Learning Center, which features a free special-effects theatre performance about ways to protect the environment.

In celebration of Arbor Day and the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, volunteers of all ages are sought to participate in the annual planting activity, which takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at Oso Viejo Park. Volunteer applications are available by clicking on “Participant Forms” on the Arts Alive web page at www.cityofmissionviejo.org/artsalivefestival.

Along with the Green Expo, visitors to Arts Alive will enjoy a bevy of cultural, artistic and environmental activities and entertainment including the 12th Annual Fun with Chalk street painting festival; Rachel’s Challenge and Links of Character; Artes de la Vida; and the Oso Creek Sense of Place Trail Flag Project.

The festival is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day; Fun with Chalk runs until 5 p.m. For more information, call 949-470-3062 or visit www.cityofmissionviejo.org/artsalivefestival.
