Sidewalk artists of all ages will bring masterpieces to life using the vibrant medium of chalk on pavement at the FunWithChalk event during the City’s two-day Arts Alive Festival on April 24-25.

The weekend event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Oso Viejo Park, 24932 Veterans Way.

In its 12th year, this dynamic event seeks to educate, amaze and entertain. Visitors will be fascinated by the works of featured artists Shaina Joel and Alex Rajic. Shaina, 16, specializes in portraiture. Alex, a pre-med student who has participated in the event for the past 12 years, plans to create a “Master” this season.

Along with street painting, visitors will enjoy entertainment by Javier Alvarez Palomar, an internationally known performance artist, and popular juggler Izzi Tooinsky. Weekend art workshops are planned for children and parents. Food vendors will also be on hand.

Free shuttle service will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Arts Alive from the Mission Viejo Civic Center, 200 Civic Center. Festival patrons are encouraged to donate to the South County Outreach Foodbank.
