Parents and caregivers of teenagers are invited to take part in a special program designed to educate them on effective prevention and intervention techniques that will help their children grow into safe and competent adults.
The Parent Project, hosted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department – Mission Viejo Police Services, is based on the simple notion that “the tougher it gets to be a teen, the tougher it gets to be a parent.”
Participants will gather for 10 consecutive Wednesdays from April 14 through June 16. The first six classes are from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with the remaining four taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
This beneficial, enlightening program will answer questions and help stop parent-child arguments; improve school attendance and performance; prevent or intervene in alcohol or drug use; and find resources to help.
The Parent Project has received much recognition for its successful track record.
Cost is $20. To register, call Mission Viejo Police Services at 949-470-8433.
