Capistrano Valley High School could win an electronics prize package worth $210,000.
The school is one of three competing for the grand prize that includes 50 laptop computers, 30 LCD monitors, 20 digital camcorders, 16 digital cameras, 10 color laser printers, six Blu-ray players and hi-definition TVs, $100,000 in Microsoft software, a $5,000 grant from DIRECTV, $5,000 in Best Buy gift cards and more. The prize is furnished by Samsung, DIRECTV, Microsoft and Best Buy.
The school is competing against two other schools in Tennessee and Iowa. If Capo doesn’t win, it will be awarded with a package worth $50,000, as part of Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope contest. The contest is geared toward improving technology resources.
Capo parent Wendy Harder, who submitted the entry form, Principal Deni Christensen and Student Body President David Aguilar will travel to New York on March 31 where New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will announce the contest’s winner.
