The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) will be one of several agencies participating in a Mock DUI Crash in Mission Viejo. Participating agencies will include:
OCFA, OCSD, Friends Against Drinking and Driving (FADD), Mission Hospital, Trauma Intervention Program (TIP), O’Connor Mortuary, S&K Towing, City Newscasts, and Medix Ambulance.
This event is sponsored by FADD and is designed to teach students the dangers of drinking and driving. This event will follow a student throughout a drinking event, decision to drive, simulated car crash with real vehicles, and onscene treatment of victims including both injured and fatal. The event also includes the arrest of the drunk driver and family notification of a death.
It is a very powerful event for all parties involved including the students in the crowd. “This is a very important message that can save lives,” says Steve Concialdi. “We hope that students will decide not to take a drink and definitely not drink and drive.”
