Bathgate Elementary School will host the Wyland Foundation Mobile Learning Center (MLC) in partnership with the Ocean Institute Thursday and Friday.

The Ocean Institute has joined forces with the Wyland Foundation to bring educational programs into classrooms.
The Wyland Clean Water Mobile Learning Center is a 1,000-square-foot exhibit on wheels that teaches the importance of conserving and respecting our precious water resources. It features a 40-person theatre with special effects, a running river, computer model simulations of lake regions, video microscopes and an urban watershed model (that actually rains). Students will engage, play and experiment as they learn about river management estuaries, ocean runoff, environmental conservation and more.
On Friday, Feb. 26, the public is invited to share in what the students have taken part in during school hours. Reservations are available for 30-minute interactive tours, including a 6-minute special effect film. Night sessions will take place every half hour between 5 and 8 p.m.
Cost is $2 for adults; and $1 for non-students. The center is free for Bathgate students.
