Census forms will be delivered next month to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Requiring people to answer just 10 short questions, the Census form takes just a few minutes to complete and is essential to ensuring an accurate count.
The Census, which is mandated by the U.S. Constitution, is a nationwide count every 10 years. Census data are used to distribute Congressional seats to states and make decisions about what community services to provide.
The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year for things such as:
•Hospitals
•Job training centers
•Schools
•Senior centers
•Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
•Emergency services
