Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 20 when stargazers of all ages will view the sun through special solar telescopes and the planets through a wide range of telescopes.
Amateur astronomers will be on hand to guide participants in their sky viewing at Mission Viejo Civic Center’s Kershaw Garden located at 200 Civic Center.
During the day from 1 to 4 p.m., a solar telescope will focus on sun flares and sun spots. At night, the focus will be on the planets. Mars and Saturn – including Saturn’s rings – will be visible. Richard Stembler, a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, will be on hand at 4 and 6 p.m. to give an overview of the stellar sights.
This free program is open to people of all ages. For more information, visit the Mission Viejo Library’s Web site at www.cmvl.org.
