Authorities are still searching for a bank robber who robbed a Lake Forest bank with a semi-automatic pistol on Friday after possibly attempting to hold up a bank in Mission Viejo.
The man may have tried to rob the La Jolla Bank at 1 p.m. but was denied entry into the bank because he refused to remove his sunglasses and bicycle helmet. He left the area and is suspected of holding up the bank in Lake Forest a short time later.
The man is described as white, five feet seven to five feet nine inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with an average build. The robber, who wore riding gloves, entered the bank around 1:30 p.m. and handed the teller a demand note. He pointed a gun at the teller, threatening to shoot the bank employee and everyone in the bank.
After getting the money, he fled the scene. The man is said to be armed and dangerous.
