The first public workshop was held Wednesday to garner community input regarding the location of a new dog park in town.
City staff and the architect conducted the meeting that focused on proposed sites at the Lower Curtis Park area, which is located on Olympiad Road next to the O’Neill Regional Park, and the Felipe–Arroyo area south of Gilleran Park and north of Fieldcrest on Felipe Road.
More than 2,500 workshop fliers were mailed to residents near the two possible dog park sites. The meeting attracted 23 people, with 15 speakers. Residents near both sites spoke.
Another public workshop will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 in Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.
Residents who are unable to attend the meeting can submit written comments by mailing them to the City’s Recreation and Community Services Department at 200 Civic Center, Mission Viejo, 92691. Comments can also be e-mailed to recreation@cityofmissionviejo.org or faxed to 949-581-0795.
