The Mission Viejo Nadadores in January will be one of the first programs in the nation to provide an Adult Learn to Swim Program and a Novice Masters Program.
The Adult Learn to Swim provides group lessons for adults in the community who have the desire to become more proficient in the pool through learning the basics of the freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
The four-week course can be taken continuously until a swimmer reaches proficiency in the strokes. The lessons will be offered with the option of two or three classes per week and will take place mid-morning through early afternoon.
The Novice Masters Program is the next step in the progression for anyone looking to begin swimming as a form of exercise. It’s a three-week course that will serve as a transition from The Adult Learn to Swim Program to the Nadadores Masters Team (a group of more than 200 swimmers training for both recreational and competitive purposes). The class is geared toward adults looking to perfect their technique to increase speed and endurance. The course will be offered in the late morning.
Both programs begin the week of Jan. 4.
The Nadadores include more than 800 athletes, nine full-time coaches and several part-time coaches. The Nadadores are known worldwide for a commitment to excellence in the sport of swimming. Locally, the club is also known for its community-service efforts.
