If you missed jolly ole St. Nick’s arrival on Sunday, don’t fret. Beginning this week, you can continue to visit Santa from 6 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday until Dec. 20 in the Kershaw Garden at the Mission Viejo Civic Center. On Saturday, Dec. 5, pets can visit Santa, too.
Santa’s Nov. 29 arrival was a hit with the throngs of children and adults who gathered at the Civic Center for the bearded one’s much anticipated debut.
The Santa’s Arrival celebration, sponsored by the Mission Viejo Activities Committee, began in the afternoon with food and activity booths geared for children of all ages. Live music provided by the Bones West Trombone Choir echoed throughout the courtyard. Children were invited to make holiday ornaments; decorate cookies; receive a free book; play games; and make holiday cards. As the hour of Santa’s arrival grew closer, attendance topped several thousand. At 6 p.m. Santa rode up on the traditional fire engine as the tree lights were lit.
Children’s visits with Santa are free, and the evenings include crafts and entertainment.
On Saturday, Dec. 5 pet owners are invited to bring their furry friends from 1 to 5 p.m. for the “Santa Paws” photo opportunity.
Cost is $20 for a photo. For more information, call 470-3045.
