Hundreds of people packed the Mission Viejo Council Chamber on Tuesday for a chance to see a Marine who rescued his wild dog from Iraq.

Major Brian Dennis and his dog, Nubs, discussed the book, “Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine & a Miracle” at City Hall.

The book, which has touched the hearts of people across the globe, tells the story of Nubs’ 70-mile journey through the desert to reunite with Major Brian Dennis. Dennis is a Marine on his fourth tour of duty in Afghanistan. He and Nubs live in San Diego.

Dennis’ appearance garnered much media attention, as he was featured on the Today Show and KCBS News. People Magazine also featured the heart-warming story.

The public can get signed copies of the Nubs book after Nov 23 at the A Whale of a Tale Bookstore in Irvine, 4199 Campus Drive.

For more information, call 949-854-8288.
