When voters consider the recall of Council Member Lance MacLean on Feb. 2, 2010, they will be addressing two separate questions/measures. In response to public inquiries, the City is clarifying the following information:

The election will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. The ballot will address two separate questions/measures.Voters will be asked to answer “YES” or “NO” to the following question:

“Shall Lance MacLean be recalled (removed) from the office of City Council Member?”

Voters will then be asked to vote for onecandidate should the recall succeed.

Residents who casta “NO” vote on the recall can still vote for one of the candidates since it is a separate question/measure.

Detailed information regarding the election and Council candidates is available on the Election’s page of the City’s Web site. The “Candidate Information Log” will be updated accordingly:
http://cityofmissionviejo.org/DepartmentPage.aspx?id=54.

The nomination period for Council candidates closes at 5 p.m. on Nov. 19, so the list of those running in the recall election will be finalized the following day.

For more information, contact City Clerk Karen Hamman at949-470-3033 or by e-mail at khamman@cityofmissionviejo.org.
