City officials are reveling in the success of the Sept. 25 Walkability Wake Up event that attracted more than 300 people for activities and classes throughout the day.
The free six-hour event, a collaboration between the City and Orange County Down with Falls Coalition, was held in celebration of Fall Prevention Awareness Week at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
Walkability is a critical aspect of a healthy, vibrant and sustainable community. Participants did their own “walkability” survey and learned how easy and safe walking can be.
About 100 continental breakfasts were donated by in-Home Care Solutions and Rebuilding Together, and participants received goodie bags, walking maps, OCTA bus passes, Explore O.C. Walkability Cards and other giveaways.
