Free Arthritis Self-Help Program starts Oct. 6
Residents with arthritis are invited to learn new ways to control its impact on their lives in an informative and free program that starts Oct. 6.
The 6-week Arthritis Self-Help Program will help attendees to better understand arthritis.
The free program is from 1 to 3 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays through Nov. 10 at the community center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Navigating the Maze of Senior Transportation Oct. 8
Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about senior transportation resources in South County during a free workshop on Oct. 8.
Leaders in the senior transportation field will discuss the latest resources available during the workshop that takes place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The workshop includes informative presentations and hand-outs, and visitors will have the opportunity to have their questions addressed.

The young at heart are invited to enjoy an enchanting afternoon full of magic, prizes and surprises on Oct. 11.
Atria Del Sol is sponsoring the event that includes a magician, Bingo, prizes and more.

What Shall I Wear?
Enjoy viewing clothing women wore at the turn of the 20th century during an enchanting presentation on Oct. 12.
Docents from Bowers Museum will lead guests in a trip back in time viewing the necessities of fashion. A vintage hat parade will top off this delightful presentation.

The Braille Institute at 10 a.m. on Oct. 13 will host a free “Family Awareness” workshop designed to help people with vision loss maintain independence and continue community involvement.

If you are interested in learning tips for preventing falls and about balance solutions, then plan to obtain a free balance screening Oct. 14.
Complete Balance Solutions will assess head movements, walking and turning techniques and step placements to help people maintain their balance.
