Appearing at the Sept. 12 Mission Viejo Readers’ Festival – among the more than two dozen authors, illustrators, and entertainers – will be artist and art book author Lee Ames.
In his lengthy career as an illustrator, Lee Ames has drawn comic strips, book covers, and worked on animated films for Walt Disney Studios. He is also the creator of the bestselling collection of books that document his illustration techniques for children, the Draw Fifty Series, a set that includes Draw Fifty People, Draw Fifty Vehicles, and Draw Fifty Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Animals.
Lee Ames will be demonstrating the art of drawing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Comics, Characters and Creatures event in the Palo Verde Room of the Norman P. Murray Community Center.
This free City event, sponsored by the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library, takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Oso Viejo Community Park and Norman P. Murray Community Center.
In addition to “Bringing Books to Life,” the Mission Viejo Readers’ Festival is serving as a way to support those less fortunate, as representatives of the South County Outreach Food Bank will be present to accept donated canned or non-perishable food items.
More information on Lee Ames and all of the authors, illustrators, entertainers, and food vendors is available at www.mvreadersfestival.org.
