Work began this week to repave certain residential streets in the neighborhood south of La Paz Road and west of Marguerite Parkway as part of the City’s annual residential street resurfacing project.
The project is part of an ongoing effort to improve and extend the life of City streets. The work will take place on all streets bounded by Marguerite Parkway on the east side; the I-5 Freeway on the west side; La Paz Road on the North; and Crown Valley Parkway on the south.
The project includes repairing pot holes and cracked asphalt before applying either a new asphalt overlay or slurry seal.
The asphalt repairs and asphalt overlays are expected to be finished by the end of next week, with the adjustment of utility covers to follow. Crack sealing and slurry sealing will begin in the latter part of September and continue through October.
The crews doing the work have been in my neighborhood for the past few weeks. It is a huge job but they have done it with minimum disruption and always left the street in a very cleaned up condition. I think we get the last part done tomorrow. It will be nice to have or “new” street. It is great to see our community being maintained in great condition.
The contractor has posted all the streets in our neighborhood with no parking signs. In order to not have my wife’s vehicle “trapped” in our driveway, we had to look for a spot that was not posted. The only spot is several blocks away. She is handicapped and cannot walk up hills or for long distances. I think the contractor was not considerate of this situation when he posted the entire tract.
