Saddleback College’s Unconventional Summer Season presents Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. at 8 p.m. Friday, July 10 in the McKinney Theatre.
Bring the whole family to an evening of “helium hilarity” with pneumatic wizard Fred Garbo and Brazilian ballerina Daielma Santos. The talented duo has performed around the world, transcending barriers of age and language in a seamless program that includes physical comedy, dance, juggling and creative inventions that inflate.
The concert begins when a 10-foot cylinder slithers onto the stage and implodes. Before long, the audience is playing catch with gigantic inflatable props. Audience members will be mesmerized by the artistic imagery and creative foolishness as Garbo and Santos perform fast-paced, energetic, clever and universally engaging theatrical pieces.
Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. has won the praise and affection of audiences worldwide. It’s been seen on the Late Show with David Letterman, at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., on Broadway at the New Victory Theater and on stage and TV in Chile, Japan, Ireland and Brazil.
Tickets are available from noon to 4 p.m. by calling 949-582-4656 or online at www.saddleback.edu/arts. Tickets are $36 for general admission; $33 for students and seniors; and $25 for children 12 and under.
