The Planning and Transportation Commission on July 13 will consider a proposal by Parlour Enterprises/Farrell’s International for a new Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour & Restaurant at The Shops at Mission Viejo.
Plans for the new store, which will be housed in the 7,296-square-foot space near P.F. Chang’s, include a candy store, soda fountain and bistro-style menu featuring wood-stone pizzas, salads, sandwiches and burgers along with Farrell’s traditional ice cream creations like the famed 8-pound “Farrell’s Zoo” Sundae. The eatery would accommodate roughly 225 guests and plans call for a 1,030-square-foot enclosed patio dining area.
Mission Viejo will be Farrell’s second location, but it will be the first of the company’s new, much-anticipated “original concept” stores, which will be largely reminiscent of the beloved 1960s-era Farrell’s shops.
The Planning and Transportation Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of the month in Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
