Don’t miss Second Time Around Jewelry & Accessories Sale
Jewelry Pictures 002The City’s Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center will host the “Second Time Around Jewelry/Accessories Sale” starting Monday to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life on June 6-7 at Saddleback College.

The fundraiser is possible thanks to the generosity of community members who donated gently used jewelry, purses, scarves, hats and other accessories for a good cause. The items are sold at nominal costs.

Items are available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 1-5 and from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 8 at the center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Braille Institute hosts ‘Awareness and Insight’ workshop June 9
The public is invited to view a descriptive display of the “Latest in Low Vision Devices” during a free program hosted by the Braille Institute on June 9.

The program, which starts at 10 a.m., is designed to help people maintain independence and continue being involved in the community.

Learn how to extend the life of your car June 11
Residents can learn how to extend the lives of their vehicles in a free June 11 workshop at the Norman P. Community and Senior Center.

Master mechanics from Mission Viejo’s Neighborhood Car Care will share some tips for “pampering” vehicles, and participants will enjoy refreshments and root-beer floats.

The program starts at 10:30 a.m. at the center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Senior Citizens in Action in Orange County
The public is invited to attend the June 12 meeting of the Senior Citizens Advisory Council, a panel that reports to and advises the Orange County Board of Supervisors regarding senior issues.

The meeting, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, will give community members the opportunity to share their concerns and learn about county activities.

The free program takes place at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way.

Residents are invited to learn how to ease Diabetic pain during an informative, free program on June 18.

Mission Hospital’s Dr. Noh, MD will discuss pain management for diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Picnic on the Patio June 19
Picnic 064Enjoy a picnic dinner on the pristine terraces of the Norman P. Murray Community Center and a family stroll along the Oso Creek Trail.

Lemonade and root-beer floats will be available for a $1 during the enchanting event that is designed to bring family and friends together in a relaxing, fun-filled night.

Operation Baby Love Shower
The Saddleback Valley Assistance League on June 24 will pay homage to individuals who’ve created hand-knitted/crocheted items for needy infants at local hospitals.

Baby Love 127The public is invited to attend the event, which will include a display of handcrafted items, along with a complimentary lunch and program. Bring an unwrapped item for a newborn baby or handmade yarn creation.

The free program is from 10 to 12:30 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Sweet Bunco Party June 26
The Norman P. Murray and Community Center on June 26 will host a Sweet Bunco Party.

Meet and greet friends while enjoying delectable treats as you ring the bells at Bunco.

The fun-filled evening, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m., includes an array of prizes and more.

Tickets are only $5 and must be purchased in advance at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way.
