Bristol Farms, the upscale specialty grocery store in the retail/entertainment center off Crown Valley, plans to close within the next month due to corporate problems, City officials learned from the property manager, Summit Team. Summit Team is seeking another grocery store to fill the spot.
Bristol Farms’ exit from Kaleidoscope at 27741 Crown Valley Parkway follows the recent closure of El Torito Grill. The eatery also left the entertainment center near the I-5 Freeway due to corporate issues and poor performance.
Despite the closures, the center is looking forward to exciting new arrivals, with plans underway for a 6,332-square-foot delicatessen and “dueling” piano bar on the first level of the three-story center. The proposal was submitted by the owner of the popular Riptide Rockin Sushi & Teppan Grills located on Kaleidoscope’s second level. The City’s Planning and Transportation Commission will consider the proposal at its Feb. 9 meeting.
The center could also soon welcome a bridal shop, as center officials say a popular bridal salon is looking at the vacant space that formerly housed Bally Total Fitness.

While I will totally miss Bristol Farms, this is a great opportunity to try to get another grocer into the area. Whole Foods Market needs to come to south county. I drive twice a week to their beautiful store in Tustin. Totally worth it. But it would be great to have one closer. If anyone is interested contact the Whole Foods corporate office through their website and let them know that the are needed and wanted in south county!
