Marine life artist and conservation advocate Wyland on Wednesday will bring his solar-powered Clean Water Challenge Tour to Castille Elementary – part of an effort to promote sustainable use of oceans, lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands.
In partnership with the Ocean Institute and Rotary, the artist’s Clean Water Mobile Learning Center will visit the school at 24042 Via La Coruna from 1 to 3 p.m.
The 1,000-square-foot mobile center includes interactive exhibits—from an actual running river to falling rain over an urban watershed—to encourage students to prepare for what is believed to be a drier future in California.
“Educating primary and secondary school children about water conservation helps ensure that the message is taken home to parents,” Wyland said.
Principal Laura Lyon has generously extended an invitation to Mission Viejo residents to view the exhibit.
