If you didn’t get a chance to see the City’s “Making a Splash” parade float in the 120th Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day, don’t fret. The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center will replay the Rose Parade at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Oso Lounge. Free, informative workshop Jan. 6 about the best gift for loved ones
The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 10 a.m. on Jan. 6 will host a workshop designed to teach individuals how to create a contingency notebook. The notebook is important information a loved one or conservator needs in case you become incapacitated.
Participants should bring a notebook and 12 dividers to the workshop that will be facilitated by Sue Nunn. Registration is available by calling 949-470-3062.

Free award-winning 8-week course kicks off Jan. 15
The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center will host a free 8-week course beginning Jan. 15, designed to help individuals increase their balance, reduce falls and more.
The award-winning program, sponsored by Monarch Healthcare, takes place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will learn how to control falls; set goals for increasing activity; make changes to reduce the risk of falls at home; and increase strength and balance through exercise.

Roadmap to assist residents with aging parents
The public at 7 p.m. on Jan. 15 is invited to attend a free and informative presentation geared toward residents caring for their parents. Representatives from the Orange County Council on Aging will talk about crisis-care giving; advanced directives; and evaluating health among a host of other topics.
Registered attendees will receive Mission Viejo’s “Crisis Resource Guide for Caregivers of Aging Parents.”

Don’t miss ‘Boot Scootin’ Line Dance Party Jan. 16
Get ready to kick up your heels – or boots – and have a blast during the “Boot Scootin” Line Dance Party on Jan. 16. The party kicks off at 7 p.m. with professional line-dance instructor Mel Branham leading all levels of “Boot Scooters” in the art of line dance. Beginners are welcome.

Learn about dental health care at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, in a free presentation that will focus on the links between gum disease and systemic diseases.
