City gearing up for annual holiday hours

As City Hall prepares for its upcoming holiday hours, City officials are encouraging the public to be aware of facility operating hours and take care of any necessary business before Dec. 25.

City Hall will be closed from Dec. 25 through Jan. 2 and will reopen Jan. 5.

Police, fire and other essential emergency City services will not be impacted by the closure; however, the public should be aware of the following:

Public Works/ Building Services/Inspections: The Public Works Department and Building Services Division, along with the department public counters, will be closed from Dec. 25 through Jan. 2, reopening Jan. 5. However, construction and permit inspections will continue through the closure period. The Building Services Division will also conduct inspections during the holiday closure. Residents and business owners seeking permits are encouraged to apply for them before the holidays.

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center: The Animal Services Center at 28095 Hillcrest will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. During this time, staff will be available to respond to emergency calls at 949-470-3045. The Animal Services Center will open at 11 a.m. on Jan. 2.

Mission Viejo Library: The library at 100 Civic Center will be closed on Dec. 24-25 and will reopen Dec. 26 with normal business hours. On Dec. 31, the library will close at 5 p.m. and remain closed on Jan.1. For more information about Mission Viejo Library’s operating hours, call 949-830-7100 or visit www.cmvl.org.

Community Center: The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1-2. Information about the center is available by calling 949-470-3061.

Recreation and Tennis Centers: Montanoso Recreation and Fitness Center at 25800 Montanoso Drive will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 24; and closed on Dec. 25. The center will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 8 a.m. to noon on Jan. 1.

Sierra Recreation and Fitness Center at 6887 Recodo Lane will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1.

Marguerite Tennis Center at 23840 Marguerite Parkway will be open from 6:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 24; closed Dec. 25; and will be open from 6:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Felipe Tennis Center at 27161 Nogal will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
