The community is invited to help support its adopted Marines and Sailors by donating items that will be bundled into care packages and distributed to Mission Viejo’s adopted Marines and Sailors in January.
The Marine care package program is part of an effort by the City’s Student Advisory Committee – working with Mission Viejo’s Marine Adoption Committee – to help benefit the City’s adopted military personnel. The student committee acts as a liaison between youth and City government and plans events, programs, activities and more to engage youth in the community.
The following items are sought:
• Wet Ones (Travel packs of 15)
• Slim Jim (Packs of 24 individually wrapped)
• Frito Lay Peanuts ( 1 3/4 oz packets)
• Nature Valley Trail Mix Fruit & Nut Bars (1.2 oz)
• Twizzlers (60 pack individually wrapped)
• Gatorade (1lb can or packets)
• Starkist Tuna Creations (5 oz packets)
• Cheese/Peanut Butter Crackers
• Bags of individually wrapped peppermint candy (Red or Green)
• DVDs
• Magazines (Sport, Vehicles/ bikes/ water/hunting)
Care package items can be dropped off at any City facility before Dec. 25, as City Hall will be closed until Jan. 2 for the holidays.
City Hall is at 200 Civic Center; the Mission Viejo Library is at 100 Civic Center; and the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center is at 24932 Veterans Way.
