City voters on Tuesday elected Cathy Schlicht, a business woman/investment counselor, and incumbent Frank Ury to serve four year-terms on the City Council. Ury, who serves as mayor pro tem, was the top vote getter in the race for two seats. Council Member Gail Reavis did not seek re-election.
Ury, who has served on the council since 2004 and Schlicht, a resident since 1983, will be officially sworn in at the City Council’s Dec. 1 meeting in which special presentations will be made to Mayor Trish Kelley as outgoing mayor and Reavis as outgoing council member. The council will also reorganize and select a new mayor and mayor pro tem.
The City Council meets the first and third Monday of the month. Its meeting agendas are posted on the City’s Web site. For more information, visit www.cityofmissionviejo.org.
