With the Orange County International Triathlon set for Sunday, officials are encouraging the public to take note of scheduled road closures that may cause some traffic delays.
The race kicks off at 7 a.m. with a one-mile swim at Lake Mission Viejo, followed by a 25-mile bike ride beginning on Marguerite Parkway traveling north to El Toro Road and out through Santiago Canyon. Triathlon participants will then hit the ground running for a 10K run that starts on the Aliso Creek Bike Trail and traverses various trail systems before ending back at Lake Mission Viejo.
Temporary road closures will be in place that could cause some traffic delays, but residents will not be “locked in” during any portion of the race.

Marguerite Parkway between Vista del Lago & La Barca (5:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
