Members of the City of Mission Viejo’s Marines & Sailors Adoption Committee hosted a car wash on Saturday, September 6 to raise funds for the City’s adopted Marines and Sailors to offset the cost of entry level servicemen & servicewomen to attend their annual formal ball in November. The local community showed up in over 180 vehicles that were washed by 80 Marines and Sailors. The generous public showed their support of ‘our’ troops by contributing nearly $5,000 in donations for the car washes, food, shirts, hats and military coins. Donations in any amount are still appreciated as there are two more car wash opportunities (September 20 and October 18) for the public to get behind their adopted Marines and Sailors. Both car washes will be in the Civic Center Parking Lot (200 Civic Center) with the September one being from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m and the October one being from noon to 4:00 p.m. (towards the end of the Walk Against Drugs event). If you are unable to attend either car wash but would like to still contribute, you can send your check made payable to the ‘Mission Viejo Community Foundation’ to:
