New survey regarding South County transportation challenges

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is conducting the South Orange County Major Investment Study (SOCMIS) to develop long-range improvements for South County’s transportation challenges.

Through a combination of technical study and public feedback, a draft Locally Preferred Strategy (LPS) was recently developed. The draft LPS includes a mixture of investment in freeways, toll roads, streets and transit.

OCTA is soliciting public comments and feedback on the draft LPS and a fourth and final survey is now available. OCTA officials say the public’s input on the SOCMIS will help shape South County’s transportation future. The survey will be available until Sept.12. To take the survey and for detailed information on the draft LPS, visit www.octa.net/socmis.
