The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center will host an Adult Cat Adoption Weekend Aug. 30-31, in an effort to find homes for a host of lovable, “young-at-heart” cats. The center has an abundance of adult cats that are in need of good, caring homes.

The Adult Cat Adoption Weekend takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31.

Officials say that adult cats are calmer, loving and litter trained, as opposed to kittens, which initially require extra care. The adoption fee for cats five years of age and older is $35. A microchip, vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the reduced-adoption fee.

Dedicated, trained staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the weekend to field any questions about the cats waiting for new homes. The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is at 28095 Hillcrest. For more information, call 949-470-3045.
