Symphony enthusiasts and others enamored with classical and patriotic tunes within a Hollywood Bowl-type of setting are in for a treat on Aug. 2 when the City’s “must-do” summer ritual takes place.
The City is gearing up for Prelude in the Park featuring the return of Target Symphony in the Cities. Target Symphony in the Cities is a free concert featuring the talented Maestro St. Clair and the Pacific Symphony. With appeal and personality, the symphony projects energy and charisma performing songs from “The Sound of Music,” along with classical and patriotic tunes.
The fun-filled community event, which kicks off at 4 p.m. offers something for all ages. Before the symphony begins at 7 p.m., the public will enjoy the “Prelude to a Parade” Rose Parade exhibit; live entertainment; crafts for all ages; and the “Musical Playground” with hands-on activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. A shuttle service from the Civic Center will run from 4 to 9 p.m.
Visitors to the popular outdoor event are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics or purchase tasty fare on the green.
The event will take place at the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park, 24932 Veterans Way.
