Two incumbents and three residents have pulled papers for two open seats in the City Council election including Mayor Pro Tem Frank Ury, Council Member Gail Reavis; Rich Atkinson, a Planning Commissioner; Cathy Schlicht, an investment counselor/loan services manager; and Neil Lonsinger, who is currently retired and was also a former Planning Commissioner for the city.
City Council Candidate Nomination Papers are available during the nomination period that began on July 14th and ends Friday, Aug. 8.
Candidates have until 5 p.m. Aug. 8 to file nomination documents and statements of qualification for office. The deadline extends to Aug. 13 only if an incumbent is not running for re-election and does not file papers by Aug. 8.
Candidates must be registered voters and reside in the City of Mission Viejo.
