Members of the City of Mission Viejo’s Marine Adoption Committee will host a car wash on Saturday to help benefit the Marines and Sailors who will deploy to Afghanistan in August.
The car wash will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19 at City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
Folks can get their vehicles washed and help support the Marines by giving donations for car washes, food, shirts hats and special Marine/Sailor coins. Proceeds from the festive four-hour event will help fund a “Family Day” send-off for Marines and Sailors heading overseas and an annual formal ball upon their return to the states.
The car wash, which will also give the public a chance to see the military vehicles and more, is a great way to reach out and support the City’s adopted Marines.
People who are unable to attend the car wash can still help support their Marines and Sailors by making a donation in any amount. Checks should be payable to the “Mission Viejo Community Foundation” and mailed to the Marines and Adoption Fund, 200 Civic Center, Mission Viejo, CA, 92691.
